RESOLUTION 2020-31 - A RESOLUTION to take effect immediately provided it receives the vote of at least two thirds of the members of Council, or otherwise to take effect at the earliest period allowed by law, authorizing the Planning Commission to grant temporary conditional use permits for outdoor/seasonal dining facilities during this state of emergency to qualifying applicants. (Anticipated referral to Housing 5/18/20)
How wide is a standard sidewalk square? How will pedestrians be able to safely distance themselves from diners? People with mobility issues won't be able to just step in the street to clear the distance. How will our citizens, especially our most vulnerable, be protected from customers....customers whose mouths will not be covered? Is there enough space? I love the idea but I don't want our sidewalks more crowded, especially during a pandemic.
