I would like to purchase an electric vehicle, but because I am renting a house and I'm not a homeowner, I am unable to install a charging station and therefore, can't feasibly own an electric vehicle. I don't have a driveway and am forced to park on the street or in a public parking lot near my house. The public parking lot would be perfect to install charging stations and there is a case to be made that charging stations should be more prevalent in Lakewood. I am prepared to make that case.

I urge the Finance Committee and Council as a whole to fund development of a Climate Action Plan for the city. Funding such a plan is a natural next step following the city's commitment to 100% renewable energy. A plan will demonstrate that the city is serious about its renewable energy pledge, help attract grant funding, and ensure that the city acts to meet its pledge in a judicious, thoughtful, and cost-effective way.
