I was born here. I was raised here. I live here. I support this measure.
Please pass this important resolution. Thank you!
I am writing to express my support of Resolution 2022-33 that will adopt the City of Lakewood Reproductive Health Care Policy. This policy will give Lakewood residents some protection of our confidential health care information and from intrusive investigation of residents who seek or assist others with seeking care and our health care workers who provide care. I’m proud of our city for leading the way on important issues like this one. Thank you to Councilman Schachner, Vice President Kepple and Councilwoman Marx for your leadership and working with council and members of the administration to get this done.
It is important that we do everything we can to ensure that all of us retain our right to maintain control over our own bodies not government!!
As a Lakewood resident, I support any and all measures Lakewood City Council takes to protect the bodily autonomy and personal medical choices of citizens of Lakewood.
As a Lakewood resident, I support Lakewood City Council in taking any possible measures to protect the reproductive healthcare of all of its citizens.
I’ve lived in Lakewood for close to 40 years and strongly supported this measure. We must make Lakewood a safe place that stays out of the medical decisions of all of its residents. Focusing our efforts and our funds in ways that do so is a benefit to us all.
See attached legal analysis and related materials.
As someone born and raised in Lakewood and currently raising my own family here, I am proud to see Lakewood stand up for the reproductive rights of all, in contrast to the Ohio legislature's horrific disregard for the needs and desires of its citizens.
I adamantly oppose this legislation that directly contravenes Ohio state law. Stop grandstanding and follow Ohio laws.
I support this Resolution. Thank you for protecting important private healthcare decisions.
An interesting bit of terpsichore. Ordinance 24-2022 becomes Resolution 2022-32. Apparently, the legal exposure due to enacting an ordinance contravening Ohio law became apparent to Council. Is it Council's hope that enacting this as policy will limit those with standing to sue to the City of Lakewood to the employees?
Regardless of form, this resolution and policy set a dangerous precedent and should not be passed.
