RESOLUTION 2021-17 - A RESOLUTION to take effect immediately provided it receives the vote of at least two thirds of the members of Council, or otherwise to take effect at the earliest period allowed by law, expressing support and appreciation for Lakewood’s Asian and Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community members including residents, business owners, workers and visitors; and condemning all manner of racist and xenophobic behavior, hate speech, harassment, violence, and discrimination toward AAPI persons and AAPI owned businesses; and urging local, state and federal entities to prosecute to the fullest extent of the law anyone responsible for criminal activity toward such persons or businesses; and calling on the Cuyahoga County Board of Health and the Ohio Department of Health to include anti-racist messaging in public information and education efforts.
