I only support the 7th suggestion, as that should be front and center and not an afterthought. The racist responses from the Mayor in closing the court and the unaccounted racism of citizens on social media pages only create exclusive safety measures. Lakewood is 80% white, and City Council is 100% white. These public safety recommendations center whiteness and do not consider the violent impact of police presence on Black and Brown people. It makes them scapegoats when the problem is in the farmhouse. Lakewood's white population being the residents of said farmhouse.
