    Dear Council Members,

This is in regard to the lack of open restrooms in Lakewood Park for what is apparently six months of the year.

Is the park even open if the restrooms are closed?

Many people, including the 500 seniors at nearby Westerly Apartments are within a 20-minute walk of Lakewood Park but can't go because they need to use a restroom due to problems associated with the need for frequent urination.

The Solstice Steps is listed on Google Maps as a destination. Imagine a family driving in from a distance to see them only to find their are no restrooms for the kids. Ridiculous!

It's my understanding that the Lakewood Park restrooms used to be open year-round. Why did it stop? Was it budget considerations? Seems like a lousy way to save money!

If restrooms are closed for lack of money to keep them open, why not let businesses or charitable organizations sponsor the restrooms for six months of the year? Or maybe Port-A-Potties? The cost can't be astronomical.

    Thanks for your consideration.
