I greatly appreciate that the roadway marking on Hilliard appear to be finally complete (with the possible exception of the north side of the McKinley/Hilliard intersection. There is a white line that no one appears to understand). However, as I noted in my previous public comment, the signage is not incorrect in many places. There are signs that imply cars are permitted to park in the bike lane on Hilliard between Atkins and Woodward on the weekends. Is that actually what is intended there? I don't believe so, yet there are cars parked in the bike lane every weekend, and the signs indicate it's permitted. There are also signs indicating that turns may be made from a center turn lane that no longer exists. There is still a sign at the lighted intersection at Elmwood that shows a left turn lane that no longer exists. Obviously, most motorists will use common sense and follow the painted roadway markings, but there is no reason to leave the now obsolete signs in place.
