I urge the city to consider shifting the current sidewalk (soon to be multi- modal path) to become a landscaped tree lawn and relocating the multi-modal path to the existing tree lawn area, at least between Franklin Avenue and Detroit Avenue or possibly the whole pathway. This design would create a wider green buffer between homes and the multi-modal path, providing greater separation, privacy, and safety for residents. A landscaped tree lawn also offers protection from traffic, improves drainage, reduces heat, and creates a more attractive streetscape. Prioritizing this layout would better balance the needs of pedestrians, cyclists, and the people who live along this corridor.
